My name is Grant Cipollone.  The school I attend is Fort. Lauderdale High School in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  I like to watch tv and movies on my free time, which is one reason I was interested in taking AICE Media Studies.  Another reason I chose AICE Media Studies was to complete the credits needed for my AICE Diploma.  When I heard one of the class's goals is the creation of an intro to a film, I got very interested.  Since I love watching movies, learning about film production in AICE Media Studies is very interesting to me.  I have found it fun to learn about the different camera angles and editing practices so far.  I am excited for the creation of the movie since there is a lot of freedom for creativity.

What I have learned so far in AICE Media Studies are different film terms and what they look like in a real application.  These include different types of camera shots, types of sounds, and editing methods.  My favorite type of camera shot is the long take because of the immersion it creates.  I especially like its application in the Movie Children of Men.

My favorite movies are Marvel's Infinity War and Endgame as well as The Truman Show.  I like Infinity War and Endgame because of the huge scale they were made on and the extremely high production value.  I think it makes the movies stand out from other ones.  I enjoyed The Truman Show because of the ending.  I felt it was pleasing to watch and had a unique ending.  Other movies I really enjoyed are dramas like The Dark Knight.

I have heard that the AICE Media Studies film project requires editing.  I do not have any prior experience editing with video software, but I am excited to learn it and apply it to my film.

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

  These are roughly the 12 "parts" of the music video divided into scenes, all about 5 seconds long each. 1. The video will start with the main character coming out of the front door with his dog on a leash next to him. This will be the instrumental first 4 seconds before the lyrics start. 2. The first scene will cut to a wide shot of the street, panning and following the boy and the dog walking. This second scene will begin right when the lyrics start, and the camera will focus to a shadowy figure in the background. 3. This shadowy figure comes from off screen and grabs the leash from their hands, running away with the dog. They cannot stop this from happening as they are in shock at what happened. 4. This scene is just a zoom in of the main character who mouths "NOOOO" into the sky. At this point the shadowy figure has run off, and it has left him in great despair. 5. Production: Scouting the Film Site

 So far, no filming has taken place.  Neither has any editing.  However, we have been preparing for filming.  One of the hardest things we have had to do for this project was find a good location.  Originally, we wanted an abandoned building.  But, no buildings that look remotely abandoned can be found around where we live because of the population density.  So, we had to switch the setting of the story.  We chose to make the new setting a forest, because that is much more general and easier to find.  Or so we thought.  It turned out that finding a forest in a densely populated area was almost just as hard.  We visited multiple parks and found locations that could work for filming.  However, the best places were too far away for all of us to meet at.  Luckily, we found a park between our houses that had enough trees to look remotely like a forest.   The park has a lot of locations that we can use to film.  O...
