Filming Blog: Filming Day

 The beginning of filming day started slow.  We decided prior to film at night and evening.  The reasons for filming at night is because the scenes happen mostly in the dark.  But, you may be wondering why we decided to film in the evening.  According to the script, not many scenes happen in evening.  The main reason is because of the position of the sun and sunlight.  The script calls for scenes in the early morning but, we do not want to go out at night and morning.  So, we figured that the sun is in a similar position in the evening to the position it is in during the morning.  This led us to schedule filming in the evening and night.  This will allow us to film in one long go so we don't have to set up the tent twice.  So, none of us had to wake up early.  After packing up my backpack, I set out to the park.  We live in Florida and, therefore, are used to the heat.  But, on filming day, it was very cold.  It is January and is expected to be colder but, it was especially cold.  Because of this, all of us had to wear layers.  That is why, in the movie, we will all be wearing jackets.  I think this is a good thigs because it suits the setting.  In a cold and dark forest, anyone would want to cover up and wear layers.  After we got to the park, we got straight to business.

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

  These are roughly the 12 "parts" of the music video divided into scenes, all about 5 seconds long each. 1. The video will start with the main character coming out of the front door with his dog on a leash next to him. This will be the instrumental first 4 seconds before the lyrics start. 2. The first scene will cut to a wide shot of the street, panning and following the boy and the dog walking. This second scene will begin right when the lyrics start, and the camera will focus to a shadowy figure in the background. 3. This shadowy figure comes from off screen and grabs the leash from their hands, running away with the dog. They cannot stop this from happening as they are in shock at what happened. 4. This scene is just a zoom in of the main character who mouths "NOOOO" into the sky. At this point the shadowy figure has run off, and it has left him in great despair. 5. Production: Scouting the Film Site

 So far, no filming has taken place.  Neither has any editing.  However, we have been preparing for filming.  One of the hardest things we have had to do for this project was find a good location.  Originally, we wanted an abandoned building.  But, no buildings that look remotely abandoned can be found around where we live because of the population density.  So, we had to switch the setting of the story.  We chose to make the new setting a forest, because that is much more general and easier to find.  Or so we thought.  It turned out that finding a forest in a densely populated area was almost just as hard.  We visited multiple parks and found locations that could work for filming.  However, the best places were too far away for all of us to meet at.  Luckily, we found a park between our houses that had enough trees to look remotely like a forest.   The park has a lot of locations that we can use to film.  O...
